Grid Integration of Renewable Energy Using Pulse Width Modulation (PMW) Inverter
Objectives:
This project was a somewhat extension to the VSC converter project. Previously, we converted the variable DC from the renewable source into fixed DC. Here, we had to implement the 3-phase PWM inverter in association with IGBT, to get a AC power and then integrate it to the grid via a synchronizer. Salient points of include,
-
Implementation of the PWM inverter
-
To have grid integration capabilities
-
Inclusion of microcontroller for IGBTs conduction
-
Determining circuit’s zero crossing
-
Synchronization of the AC output power with the grid
-
Final grid integration & testing
Tasks :
-
Background knowledge & Literature Review
-
Running MATLAB simulations for Buck-Boost & Cuk Converter
-
MATLAB Simulations for Full bridge VSI
-
Sinusoidal PWM inverter design, mathematical modelling & simulations
-
Circuit design & implementation of SPWM inverter, driver IC and Pulse amplification unit
-
Collaborating with hardware implementation of the project
-
Final integration & testing
